OUR COURSES
PHARMACOLOGY FOR THE SUPPORT WORKER
The Support Worker Pharmacology program is designed for Support Workers employed in Long Term Care, Retirement Homes and home care/community settings. The general principles of medication administration are the focus of this course. Key topics covered include; current drug legislation, safe medication administration practices; common drug reactions and interactions; drug classification, medication management principles, theoretical foundation and knowledge of different actions and side effects of various medications that the the support worker may administer.
MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY
Dive right into class with one of our expert teachers. The Medical Terminology Course is an introduction to the language and understanding of medical terms required to communicate effectively in a medical setting. In addition, the course will provide learners with the basics of human anatomy and physiology.
FIRST AID & CPR
Teachers at Coles Care will go out of their way to engage their students and inspire them to enquire and learn.
Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.
MASK FIT TESTING
We offer a flexible, efficient, and cost-effective approach to support our client’s mask fit testing requirements! Our certified mask fit instructors have mask fit-tested thousands of wearers across many professions in Ontario. We offer Qualitative Mask Fit Testing (QFLT).
Baby Sitting Course/Stay Safe
The Baby Sitter Course offers basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth 11-15 years old. participants will learn how to provide care to children of various ages. Participants will also learn how to prevent and respond to emergencies. After successful completion of this course learners can offer skills to promote themselves as baby sitters to prospective families Includes compression only CPR. This course is 8 hours in length.
